A Stanford-trained architect turned ceramicist, on Sight Unseen's 2025 Hot List and newly released with an eleven-piece collection for Design Within Reach.

Devin Wilde studied architecture before founding his Red Hook studio in 2023, and it shows. His hand-thrown vessels and tables carry classical columns, Art Deco geometries and delicate structural ribs where ornament and engineering become the same thing. Deeply saturated garnet and cobalt glazes have made him one of the most collected young ceramicists in American design.

Doshi Levien stitch their first Hay collection from Indian embroidery

Dori, named for the Hindi word for thread, is the first textile accessories collection Nipa Doshi and Jonathan Levien have designed for Hay, a range of quilted organic cotton bedspreads, cushions and cushion covers in midnight blue, maroon and green that grew from a textile detail Mette Hay spotted on a visit to the pair's London studio, each piece carrying reversible two-tone colour fields and a contrasting embroidered grid that structures the surface and guides how it is placed. It earns its place as a bed layer, because a reversible quilt drawn by one hand can flip a bedroom's temperature without respecifying anything else in the room, and with pieces running from 69 to 349 euros it puts serious-studio textile design at high street money.

Caroline Biggs has gathered ten new launches built on the diamond, led by Kirkby Design's Brent velvet in Jewel Beetle for Romo, drawn from the moquette of 1930s London Underground carriages, and running through Elitis's handmade braided abaca Trenza grass cloth, Armani/Casa's large-scale Hokkaido rhombus wallcovering for Thibaut, Casa Branca's roller-engraved Trellina Diamond that fakes real millwork, Donghia's Kuba-cloth Skuba jacquard for Kravet and Area Environments' Maple Seed Argyle mural by Mary Jo Hoffman.

Ken Fulk has drawn on the dramatic interiors of the 1930s and 1940s for Perennials and Sutherland, and the result runs to 22 textiles and seven outdoor furnishings, among them the boldly striped Wild Bengal fabric, the peacock-paisley Fine Feathered Friend wallcovering, the leopard-spotted Untamed rug and the lattice-framed teak Trellis lounge chair.

Ikea's Kompishang collection is built for clients who rent and move

Ikea's Kompishang range is designed around the realities of renting and moving in a city, running a folding desk, stools that stack up into shelving, hanging storage and a wheeled bag through lightweight, multifunctional forms that make the most of scarce square footage. For a working designer it is a sensible answer to the flat-share and first-flat brief, where nothing can be fixed to a wall, everything has to leave with the client and the budget will not carry bespoke joinery.

Shinichiro Okuda of Los Angeles studio Waka Waka, whose signature material is Baltic birch plywood, has treated Japanese manufacturer Benex's steel and aluminium sheet the way he approaches ply for the Eetal project, producing a chair, table and stool plus a tray, clothes hanger and two clothes racks, all built from circles, squares and arches with glossy folded ribbon edges, in a blue lifted straight from Benex's standard factory colours and paired with Edo-period yellows, pinks and black.

Made worked through the Barbican archives and the pioneering show homes Miriam Howitt created for the estate in the late 1960s to produce 23 pieces of furniture, lighting, textiles and accessories, so the estate's upside-down semi-circles turn up in the wooden side panels of the Dual accent chairs and the Plinth coffee table, the Concert Hall's tubular acoustic panels become the Curve lamps, and the coffered waffle ceilings become the Coffer ceiling and wall lights.

Michele De Lucchi takes the creative reins at Triennale Milano

Michele De Lucchi, the Memphis-era designer turned architect, has been appointed Creative Director of Triennale Milano and sets out a vision in which the institution stops observing change and becomes an active driver of it, arguing that design carries real responsibility in a rapidly shifting world. For a working designer it is a useful weather vane, because whoever shapes the Triennale programme shapes the conversation that filters down into Salone, into the trade shows and eventually into what clients start asking for.
